Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting team. This role focuses on financial statements, disclosures, controls, and regulatory compliance, with emphasis on technical accounting research and complex transactions.

The ideal candidate will analyze accounting issues, prepare documentation, and partner with stakeholders across the organization to support accurate and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• Experience with financial reporting regulations and disclosures.
• Experience preparing financial statement footnotes and disclosures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify trends and variances.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and data analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, statements of equity, and related disclosures.
• Support ESG reporting and other regulatory reporting requirements
• Assist with monthly and quarterly consolidation processes
• Research and document accounting conclusions related to complex transactions, new agreements, accounting standards, and technical accounting matters
• Draft technical accounting memos, disclosures, and supporting documentation
• Analyze financial data, identify trends and variances, and investigate discrepancies
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve financial reporting issues
• Support internal control processes and evaluate control effectiveness
• Assist with internal and external audit requests
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Tax, Internal Audit, and business stakeholders across the organization
• Recommend process improvements and support enhancements to financial systems and procedures
• Utilize Microsoft Copilot and other AI tools to support accounting documentation when appropriate
• Support period-end close activities and other accounting responsibilities as needed

This role is focused on financial reporting, technical accounting research, complex transactions, internal controls, and regulatory compliance. This is not a traditional operational accounting position. While there may be some involvement with close activities, reconciliations, and journal entries, the primary focus is on financial statements, technical accounting, disclosures, controls, and accounting documentation.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, variances, and reporting issues
• Knowledge of internal controls, supporting documentation, and financial review processes
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification or active progress toward CPA designation
• Big Four or large public accounting firm experience
• Experience with a public company, large private equity-backed company, or other complex organization
• Experience supporting consolidations, regulatory filings, or ESG reporting
• Familiarity with Workiva, IBM Planning Analytics, SAP, or BlackLine
• Experience using Microsoft Copilot or other AI tools for accounting and documentation purposes
