Job summary

Compatriot Capital, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to support consolidation reporting, review property-level financials, and manage corporate accounting duties. Job Summary

The Senior Accountant assists in consolidation reporting, reviewing property level financials, and managing various financial corporate accounting duties within Compatriot and its subsidiaries. This role demands a strong grasp of US GAAP and management reporting, with a focus on delivering accurate financial statements, supporting audits, and leading reporting for various internal and external stakeholders. The role also supports Compatriot’s ongoing efforts to implement AI-enabled tools and automation to improve the efficiency of accounting and reporting processes.

Accounting Responsibilities

• Coordinate financial reporting for consolidated US GAAP financial statements
• Support consolidation processes for Compatriot's entities in Excel and Prophix
• Perform property level investment reviews of Compatriot's investments and ensure financial statements are in accordance with US GAAP
• Help document and review accounting for acquisitions, dispositions, loan closings, and other significant transactions
• Contribute to the external audit process by preparing necessary schedules and supporting documentation
• Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements within the corporate accounting function and control environment, especially in regard to AI automation
• Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process for corporate accounting (recording journal entries, monthly bank and investment reconciliations)
• Provide backup support for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury functions as needed
• Lead the Cherre functionality as the main point of contact for sponsors and Cherre team

Education and Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting or a related field
• 2-4 years of experience in public accounting or a corporate accounting environment
• CPA or CPA candidate is a plus
• Demonstrable knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting processes
• Proficient in Excel/Microsoft applications and AI tools (i.e. Claude); experience in consolidation, Prophix, Sage, Cherre and Workiva is a plus
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, capable of handling multiple tasks and meeting strict deadlines
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting
• Critical thinking skills to solve problems and identify opportunities for process improvement
