Job summary

CFS in Chicago, IL is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage general ledger for office, retail, and multifamily properties, and to prepare lender and owner reporting packages. You will support CAM reconciliations, real estate tax reconciliations, and monthly close processes in a real estate–balanced environment.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of CRE accounting experience, GAAP knowledge, and proficiency in Yardi and Excel to deliver accurate financial statements and schedules.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of accounting experience within commercial real estate
• Knowledge of GAAP and tax accounting principles
• Experience with Yardi and advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger accounting for office, retail, and multifamily properties
• Prepare financial statements, supporting schedules, and lender/owner reporting packages
• Complete CAM and real estate tax reconciliations
• Support monthly close, account reconciliations, and cash management activities
• Manage tenant lease setup review, utility billings, and tenant chargeback processes
• Assist with annual property budgets, loan compliance, and tenant improvement draw administration
