Addison Group in Illinois is seeking a Senior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close for a diversified real estate portfolio. This on-site, growth-oriented role places you alongside finance leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure precise financial reporting and timely filings across multiple entities.

You will prepare journal entries, reconcile ledgers, and support audits while leveraging Excel and Yardi for robust analysis and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
• CPA certification or CPA track preferred.
• 3–5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate, property accounting, or investment environments.
• Experience in healthcare real estate, REITs, or commercial real estate strongly preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Yardi or similar property/accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and maintain general ledger accuracy across multiple entities.
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements and reporting packages.
• Assist with audit prep by gathering documentation and responding to auditor requests.
• Partner with internal teams on financial analysis, reporting needs, and special projects.
• Work with external tax advisors to provide supporting schedules and data for filings.
• Review balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with year-end reporting and data compilation for regulatory and internal reporting.

Job Description:

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close activities for a diversified real estate portfolio. This role works closely with finance leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and timely reporting across multiple entities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and maintain general ledger accuracy across multiple entities
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements and reporting packages
• Assist with audit preparation by gathering required documentation and responding to auditor requests
• Partner with internal teams on financial analysis, reporting needs, and special projects as assigned
• Work with external tax advisors to provide supporting schedules and financial data for filings
• Review and analyze balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with year-end reporting requirements, including data compilation for regulatory and internal reporting needs
• Manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
