Job summary

Carolina PRG is partnering with a growing manufacturing company in the Charlotte area to hire a Senior Accountant on the corporate accounting team.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of accounting experience, with public accounting strongly preferred and a path toward CPA certification. This role focuses on close processes, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting within GAAP guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 2+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Public accounting experience strongly preferred, including first move to industry.
• Combination of public and corporate accounting experience highly desired.
• Big 4 or national/regional public accounting firm experience preferred.
• CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Manufacturing experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and year end close process.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Perform balance sheet and general ledger account analysis.
• Prepare financial reporting and supporting schedules.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests and internal controls.
• Partner with cross functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve and streamline accounting processes.
• Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
