Job summary

Gogo Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant in Broomfield to manage complex lease, fixed asset, and ARO accounting for network operations across 300+ sites. You will support monthly close, internal controls, and audits, while automating processes and ensuring SOX compliance in a publicly traded environment.

The role requires strong US GAAP knowledge, hands-on experience with leases and fixed assets, and collaboration across departments. CPA preferred and travel is minimal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance required or equivalent
• 4–6+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX controls
• Hands-on lease, fixed asset, and ARO accounting experience preferred
• CPA license or candidate status is a plus

Responsibilities

• Oversee full lifecycle lease accounting
• Manage lease management system including contracts, amendments, renewals, terminations
• Prepare lease disclosure schedules for quarterly financials
• Manage fixed asset lifecycle: capitalization, depreciation, transfers, impairment, disposals

## Senior AccountantApply: Broomfield (105 Edgeview Dr): Full time: Posted Yesterday: R4261--- --- ---**BASIC FUNCTION**The Senior Accountant, reporting to the Accounting Manager, is primarily responsible for managing complex accounting functions related to Lease, Fixed Assets, and Asset Retirement Obligations (ARO) accounting for Network Operations of over 300 cell tower sites. This role requires technical US GAAP knowledge, robust analytical skills, and hands-on experience with leases and fixed assets in a SOX controlled, publicly traded company environment. The Senior Accountant plays a vital role in monthly closing procedures, financial reporting, SOX internal control compliance, supporting external audits, and maintaining accurate, timely accounting records in accordance with U.S. GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements. This role collaborates with multiple departments to resolve issues, supports internal and external audits, and improves processes through automation and consistent workflows while maintaining effective internal controls. **PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*** Oversee full-lifecycle lease accounting.* Maintain and manage the lease management software/system, ensuring all lease contracts, amendments, renewals, and terminations are accurately abstracted and processed.* Prepare lease disclosure schedules for quarterly financials.* Manage the fixed asset lifecycle: capitalization, depreciation, transfers, impairment evaluations, and disposals.* Review capital expenditure requests (CAPEX) to ensure proper classification, coding, and compliance with corporate capitalization policies.* Lead annual and periodic physical counts of fixed assets and conduct impairment testing assessments when triggering events occur.* Maintain ARO liability and asset retirement cost schedules.* Prepare monthly reconciliations and journal entries for leases, fixed assets, and asset retirement obligations.* Support monthly and year-end close activities and meet reporting deadlines.* Serve as the primary liaison for tax, internal audit, and external audit matters across all assigned areas.* Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed. **JOB QUALIFICATIONS****Required Education and Experience:*** Bachelor degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance* 4–6+ years of relevant accounting experience* Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP and SOX internal control frameworks* Hands-on experience with lease, fixed asset, and/or ARO accounting in a publicly traded or SOX-controlled environment is a plus* Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or CPA candidate status is a plus**Skills/Abilities:*** Advanced proficiency in Excel* Experience with enterprise resource planning systems; experience with Business Central is a plus* Experience with lease software is preferred* Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to summarize complex accounting matters clearly for leadership and stakeholders **TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS**Minimal travel required **PHYSICAL** **DEMANDS**Normal office environment.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by most people assigned to this job.
