Alscott, Inc. in Boise, Idaho seeks a Senior Accountant to oversee financial reporting for our multi-entity organization. You will maintain accounting practices and prepare the general ledger, accounts payable, financial statements, and assist with budgeting and forecasting.

This lead role works closely with the accounting team and senior management. Strong communication, attention to detail, and a track record of process improvements are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
  • Progressive accounting responsibilities with accuracy and timeliness are expected.
  • Experience with GAAP and tax-basis accounting preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to develop and improve accounting processes and deliverables.
  • Experience with close collaboration on projects within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain the general ledger and month-end close.
  • Handle accounts payable and financial reporting for multiple entities.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and cash/investment management.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of financial statements.
  • Collaborate with senior management and other departments on projects.

Our well-established and long-time family office and private family foundation in Boise, Idaho is searching for a Senior Accountant. In this role you will be responsible for financial reporting for our multiple-entity organization. You will maintain accounting practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and perform a full range of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, accounts payable, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting support, and assist with cash and investment management.


This is a lead departmental role without direct supervisory responsibilities. In the role, you will work closely with the accounting team and senior management of the organization. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • Minimum of 7 years’ progressive accounting responsibilities

  • Experience in closely held business organizations with both GAAP and tax-basis accounting preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills communicating effectively and proactively with individuals at all levels in the organization. Ability to build positive working relationships

  • Highly organized and attentive to detail, producing thorough, quality work

  • Ability to work individually, critically evaluate and execute process improvements and work as part of a team including leading special projects

  • Ability to take direction, anticipate next steps, adapt approach

  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely, objective and confidential manner; uses logic and good judgment to reach solutions

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, and meet deadlines

  • Ability to work with and maintain confidential information

  • Technical Skills – PC excellence, working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word, ability to learn and administer new technology, Sage Intacct, and financial report writing experience.

  • Experience in implementation of new accounting software is preferred
