Job summary

Crowley Fleck PLLP in Billings, Montana, is seeking a full-time Senior Accountant. The role focuses on general ledger reconciliations, payroll review, and backup support for accounts payable and payroll processing. This position is 100% in-office.

Responsibilities include preparing financial reports, analyzing variances, assisting with audits, and supporting ACA and other regulatory filings. A CPA designation is preferred; Bachelor’s in Accounting is required.

  • Reconciles financial data; exports and presents data in reports.
  • Prepares periodic financial reporting and expense analysis for Firm Management.
  • Monitors accounts payable and assists with month-end/year-end close.
  • Assists with tax filings and maintains depreciation schedules.

Job description

Our Billings, Montana office is currently seeking a full-time experienced Senior Accountant.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant handles various accounting functions for the firm, payroll review, and provides back-up support in the areas of Accounts Payable and Payroll processing. This position is 100% in-office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepares reconciliations for general ledger accounts - in some cases this will be daily.
  • Reviews and manages all scheduled payrolls.
  • Reconciles detailed financial data; exports, generates, and presents data in various report formats.
  • Prepares periodic financial reporting and expense analysis for Firm Management.
  • Analyzes financial data, reconciles variances, and communicates findings to the Chief Financial Officer and/or other staff as appropriate.
  • Assists with daily monitoring and approval of accounts payable.
  • Assists with month-end and year-end close.
  • Assists with and prepares various tax filings.
  • Maintains fixed asset depreciation schedules.
  • Monitors lease payment compliance.
  • Provides support for audits by external entities.
  • Assists with benefits compliance monitoring including ACA and Third-Party Providers.
  • Prepares and provides information for ACA filings.
  • Monitors and administers all firm credit cards.
  • Monitors adherence to the Firm’s policies and procedures.
  • Assists with the annual budget process.
  • Assists with various financial and accounting projects.
  • Acts as a role model for integrity, fiscal responsibility, and ethical behavior.
  • Researches and stays apprised on industry trends and best practices.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in accounting.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and other similar software; experience with ERPs and databases preferred.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Valid driver’s license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
