May Mobility, based in Ann Arbor, MI, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Finance team and help build new processes while maximizing ERP capabilities. You will work cross-functionally and report to the Accounting Manager as part of a growing organization focused on autonomous mobility.

The role emphasizes ASC 606 accounting, vendor coordination, and cross-department collaboration to improve financial reporting and cost control in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• 4+ years in corporate finance or public accounting.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP.
• Excellent analytical and data-mining skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences with proper documentation.
• Research unique transactions and determine proper accounting treatment.
• Prepare and manage month-end close accruals and journal entries; present results to management.
• Coordinate with vendors for monthly invoicing and onboarding.
• Provide cross-functional support for AP, AR, and payroll processes.

" May Mobility is entering an exciting phase of growth and our team is expanding quickly. We are looking for a Senior Accountant to add to our Finance team. We are looking for a candidate that can build new processes, maximize the use of our ERP system, and work cross-functionally. This role reports to the Accounting Manager.

• Review accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences through proper documentation to ensure integrity of accounting information
• Research unique transactions and demonstrate the ability to independently determine proper accounting treatment and considerations
• Prepare and manage month end close accruals, adjusting journal entries, and account reconciliations and ability to present the results to management
• Partner directly with vendors as part of monthly invoicing coordination and onboarding of new vendors as needed
• Demonstrate working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes to provide cross-functional support to those functions.
• Collaborate and plan with supply chain and engineering teams to ensure proper inventory and bill of materials tracking for vehicle builds
• Assist the Accounting team with financial statement preparation and audits, including preparation of footnote disclosures, related support and tie out support
• Demonstrate an understanding of accounting standards (specifically ASC 606) to come to an accounting treatment and ability to document and present such conclusions to the Accounting Manager
• Demonstrate an independent understanding of Company's expense policies and ability to manage and coordinate with employees to uphold compliance and reporting
• Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance
• Support new system implementations and internal controls documentation as needed
• Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to the Accounting Manager and other Finance team members
• Other duties as assigned
