Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred.
• 3–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting research.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools (SAP or Microsoft Dynamics).
• Ability to work on-site in Adger, Alabama.

Responsibilities

• Review journal entries and reconciliations prepared by staff.
• Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and scale issues.
• Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations of GL, bank, and balance sheet accounts.
• Conduct internal audits and variance analyses to identify trends.
• Maintain internal controls and accounting systems to prevent fraud.
• Forecast cash flow and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Prepare U.S. GAAP financial statements for management and tax reporting.
• Coordinate audits and prepare schedules for external auditors.

Position Summary:

Core Responsibilities:

• Review journal entries and account reconciliations prepared by staff, providing feedback and guidance as needed
• Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and scale issues to the Accounting Manager as needed
• Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations of general ledger, bank, and balance sheet accounts to ensure accurate reporting
• Conduct internal audits and variance analyses to identify trends or discrepancies.
• Maintain internal controls and accounting systems to support accuracy and prevent fraud
• Forecast cash flow and make recommendations based on performance data
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with U.S GAAP for management, shareholders and tax reporting.
• Coordinate audits and assist the Accounting Manager, including preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation for external auditors
• Assist with business tax filings and ensure compliance with local, state and federal tax regulations

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas), and Word
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Team player with strong attention to detail
