Key Responsibilities:

• Risk Assessment & Pricing: The underwriter will evaluate risk, determine pricing strategies, and establish coverage limits. They will collaborate with actuarial teams to develop competitive pricing models.
• Relationship Management: They will build strong relationships with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders, and partner with carrier and reinsurance partners to secure favorable terms.
• Claims & Coverage Review: The underwriter will monitor policy performance and resolve claims-related issues, managing renewal accounts to ensure profitability.
• Portfolio Management: They will oversee a diversified portfolio, balancing growth targets with risk exposure, and perform periodic reviews to identify trends and opportunities.
• Business Development: The underwriter will work with sales and marketing teams to develop new business opportunities and expand the portfolio.
• Mentorship: They will provide guidance to junior underwriters and lead training sessions.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in stop loss underwriting.
• Bachelor's degree in business, insurance, mathematics, economics, risk management, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency with tools like Microsoft Excel, SQL, Power BI, or Tableau.
