Job summary

OPR Communications, a public affairs firm with offices in Riverside and San Diego, is seeking an Account Supervisor to guide client strategy and lead a project team through complex public affairs challenges.

You will supervise work, manage budgets and billing, and build strong client relationships while identifying growth opportunities and staying current on California public policy issues.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in PR, communications, political science, journalism or related field.
• 5–7 years in agency, campaign, media or public affairs work.
• 2–5 years at Senior Account Executive level or equivalent.
• Track record of managing high-visibility client accounts.

Responsibilities

• Outreach and Communications: Manage coordinated outreach with the public, media and local governments.
• Client Counsel and Management: Serve as primary contact for multiple clients and advise on strategy.
• Relationship Building: Build relationships with opinion leaders, officials and media.
• Project Management: Oversee budgets, monthly projections and billings.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior team members; foster collaboration.
• Quality Control: Review written and visual work for quality in fast-paced contexts.
• Business Development: Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts and support new business.
• Industry Awareness: Stay current on California public policy issues and client industries.
• Managing Up: Keep supervisor and firm leadership informed and aligned.
