Jobtailor is seeking a dedicated Retirement Plan Administrator to lead a portfolio of clients in Cleveland, OH. You will manage compliance testing, Form 5500 preparation, asset reconciliation, and allocation calculations while ensuring high client satisfaction and timely responses to sponsors.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in retirement plan administration, deep ERISA/IRS/DOL knowledge, and proficiency with Excel and plan administration systems.

Qualifications

  • Five+ years of professional retirement plan administration and compliance experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • QKA and QPA credentials preferred or in progress
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA and IRS/DOL regulations
  • Proficient in Excel and retirement plan administration systems

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for a specified block of business and oversee overall client satisfaction
  • Perform required compliance testing and related activities
  • Reconcile assets and prepare Form 5500 and all schedules
  • Prepare employer contribution allocations, required minimum distributions, and QDROs
  • Respond to plan sponsors regarding issues and questions
  • Promote client retention and identify opportunities to expand relationships
  • Resolve complex situations or requests
  • Achieve department service goals
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Job description

  • Serve as the primary contact for a specified block of business and oversee overall client satisfaction
  • Perform required compliance testing and related activities
  • Reconcile assets and prepare Form 5500 and all schedules
  • Prepare employer contribution allocations, required minimum distributions, and Qualified Domestic Relations Orders
  • Respond professionally and promptly to plan sponsors regarding issues and questions
  • Promote client retention and identify opportunities to build existing relationships through timely, quality service
  • Resolve complex situations or requests
  • Achieve department-established service goals
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least five years of professional, retirement plan administration, and compliance experience
  • Advanced knowledge of industry and professional concepts, principles, practices, and procedures
  • Expert knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, and professional standards
  • Expert use of applicable technology
  • Proficient use of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and enterprise communication and travel solutions (Concur, Skype)
  • Experience requiring initiative and leadership skills
  • Experience coaching and teaching others
  • Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) and Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA)
  • Ability to anticipate and elicit customer needs
  • Ability to self-learn and quickly develop business and technical knowledge
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player
  • Comfortable working with quick turnaround times and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with individuals at all organizational levels

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
  • Strong background in compliance testing, Form 5500 preparation, allocations, and asset reconciliation preferred
  • Working knowledge of ERISA and IRS/DOL regulations related to retirement plan administration preferred
  • Experience reviewing or auditing others' work for accuracy and compliance preferredFamiliarity with FT William software preferred
  • Proficiency with retirement plan administration systems and Microsoft Excel preferred
  • QKA, QPA ASPPA credentials, or progress toward certification preferred
