Job summary

Job description

• Provide direct support to the Recordkeeping Supervisor and Officers in servicing and administering Pension, 401(k), 457(b), and Profit-Sharing Plans
• Prepare allocations and individual participant statements
• Communicate with client administrators to gather testing data and review census information
• Perform and analyze required testing and communicate results to clients and internal parties
• Establish and maintain employee benefit plans on the participant recordkeeping system according to adoption agreements
• Maintain enrollment, investment elections, beneficiary, and withdrawal forms
• Input employee deferrals, verify deposits, resolve discrepancies, and place mutual fund trades
• Verify share and dollar balances before posting to participant and plan accounts
• Manage calls regarding distributions, hardship withdrawals, loans, and direct rollovers; process transactions
• Export mutual fund prices and import them into the participant recordkeeping system daily
• Create transactions to balance Employee Benefit Trust Funds with the Relius retirement system
• Complete WEB database moves and verify sample account balances and activity
• Reconcile Employee Benefit Trust Funds with the participant recordkeeping system
• Gather employer census data and prepare participant statements, allocation reports, summary annual reports, and investment reports
• Stay current on Relius system changes and Federal, IRS, DOL, and ERISA rules and regulations
• Monitor plan compliance and complete compliance and discrimination testing
• Communicate testing results to Plan Sponsors and/or responsible officers and provide solutions to testing violations
• Prepare signature-ready electronic Form 5500 tax returns and schedules
• Prepare 1099-R tax forms and account for tax withholding on Form 945
• Perform duties of other Retirement Plan Services Specialists when absent
• Follow company policies, compliance procedures, and required training

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or accounting and five years of prior trust or accounting experience or the equivalent
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Formal computer science training highly recommended but not required
