Job Description
Title: Senior Account Manager - Commercial Lines
Location: Remote (Eastern and Central Time zones only; Florida insurance experience required; based out of Tallahassee, FL; focus on Construction, Contractors)
Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned book of business, ensuring account retention and supporting new business development.
- Coordinate administrative and customer service activities, resolving complex issues without errors.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for the account management team.
- Maintain technical competence and industry expertise.
- Lead daily activities and workflow of the team.
- Handle customer requests related to policies, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
- Manage policy expirations and renewals.
- Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals.
- Monitor accounts receivable and take action on delinquent accounts.
- Maintain agency management systems and carrier platforms ensuring data accuracy.
- Monitor activity/suspense for timely completion and communicate regularly with the team.
- Deliver excellent service, anticipate client needs, and respond promptly.
- Stay updated on company policies and seek continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate integrity and leadership aligning with IOA values.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of account management experience or 7+ years in the insurance industry.
- Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs.
- Active licensing required; professional designation (CIC or equivalent) preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
