Job Description

Title: Senior Account Manager - Commercial Lines
Location: Remote (Eastern and Central Time zones only; Florida experience required; based out of Tallahassee, FL)
Book Focus: Construction, Contractors

Role Summary

Manage an assigned book of business, ensuring account retention, supporting new business, and coordinating administrative and customer service activities. Serve as a subject matter expert for the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain technical industry competence.
  • Lead daily activities of the account management team.
  • Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
  • Manage policy expirations and renewals.
  • Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on delinquent accounts.
  • Maintain agency management systems and ensure data accuracy.
  • Monitor activity to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Communicate regularly with the team about workload and issues.
  • Deliver excellent service and proactively address client needs.
  • Stay updated on company policies and procedures.
  • Seek continuous improvement in team performance.
  • Demonstrate integrity and leadership aligned with IOA values.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of account management experience or 7+ years in insurance industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs.
  • Active licensing required; CIC or similar designation preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office.
