CoVerica is a premier, employee-owned independent insurance agency with over 40 years of history, and we're actively expanding across the Dallas-Fort Worth market. We're looking for an Employee Benefits Account Manager Lead to anchor our Employee Benefits service team, managing a book of complex group benefits accounts while mentoring and setting the standard for the account managers around you.
A Little Bit About CoVerica
- Recognized as a Top 10 DFW Fastest Growing Property & Casualty Insurance Agency by the Dallas Business Journal.
- In business for over 40 years, with an in-place succession plan to remain independent for the next 40.
- Part of the national SIAA network, representing nearly $12.5 billion in insurance premium together.
Why CoVerica?
Because you shouldn't have to choose between the resources of a national carrier and the culture of a true independent. At CoVerica, you get both:
- The market access, carrier relationships, and technology of a premier, growing agency with over 40 years of history.
- The agility, autonomy, and true sense of ownership that only an independent, employee-owned firm can offer.
- A team that lives by two simple rules: we treat others as ourselves, and we do the right thing, even when it hurts.
This is a role for someone who has mastered the technical side of employee benefits account management and is ready to lead, setting the pace for renewal strategy, client experience, and team development within our Employee Benefits practice.

- Guide clients through compliance requirements, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and other regulatory obligations.
- Oversee open enrollment planning and execution, including carrier and benefits administration platform coordination, such as Employee Navigator or Ease.
- Mentor and train Employee Benefits Account Managers, sharing technical expertise on plan design, underwriting, and carrier negotiation.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex service and coverage issues across the Employee Benefits team.
- Help standardize account management workflows, checklists, and best practices to keep the team consistent and audit-ready.
- Support onboarding of new account management hires alongside agency leadership.
- Partner with Producers to market new and renewal business, including RFPs, census analysis, and underwriting submissions.
- Maintain strong relationships with carrier partners and general agents to secure competitive terms for clients.
- Stay current on fully insured, level-funded, and self-funded plan structures, and help clients evaluate the right approach for their organization.
What You'll Bring
- Active Texas Life & Health License (required).
- 5+ years of Employee Benefits account management experience, ideally including some experience mentoring or leading other account managers.
- Strong working knowledge of group health, ancillary, and voluntary benefits products, underwriting, and renewal processes.
- Familiarity with ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and other employee benefits compliance requirements.
