Job description

Senior Account Executive, Publicity

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)

Allied Global Marketing is hiring an experienced Senior Account Executive to join our Publicity team, supporting clients across the travel, hospitality, entertainment, and lifestyle industries.

The Senior Account Executive will lead day to day client work and national publicity initiatives from planning through execution and analysis. This role requires strong client relationship management, strategic thinking, excellent writing, and established media and influencer relationships across New York and national markets.

The Senior Account Executive will serve as a primary client contact, develop and execute strategic earned media programs, secure meaningful coverage, coordinate media and influencer opportunities, and mentor junior team members. This individual will manage multiple accounts with limited oversight while maintaining high standards for client service, organization, reporting, and results.

At Allied Global Marketing, we embrace the thoughtful and responsible use of generative AI to enhance creativity, strategic thinking, and operational efficiency. Team members are expected to use in house AI tools to support research, brainstorming, writing, media analysis, strategic planning, reporting, presentation development, meeting summaries, and workflow optimization while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, sound judgment, and strong client service.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Client Relations / Account Management

  • Serve as a lead day to day client contact and maintain strong, transparent relationships with assigned clients
  • Develop a deep understanding of each client’s business, industry, communications goals, audiences, and competitive landscape
  • Lead client meetings and calls with confidence, clear recommendations, and limited senior oversight
  • Translate client goals into actionable communications plans, timelines, deliverables, and campaign priorities
  • Anticipate client needs and potential challenges, recommend solutions, and elevate material risks appropriately
  • Manage expectations and deliver commitments accurately, on time, and within agreed scope
  • Create polished client materials, including plans, presentations, briefing documents, meeting recaps, reports, and strategic recommendations
  • Maintain accurate project tracking, documentation, time reporting, and account organization across multiple assignments
  • Support crisis communications and issues management by working with senior leadership on strategy and implementation
  • Use AI tools to strengthen research, planning, writing, analysis, reporting, and workflow efficiency while applying professional judgment and human review

Media Relations / Campaign Execution

  • Develop and execute strategic publicity programs with limited senior oversight
  • Create timely story angles, press releases, pitches, media alerts, talking points, run of shows, and other press materials that require minimal editing
  • Lead media strategy, target development, outreach, follow up, and placement efforts across local, regional, and national outlets
  • Secure meaningful coverage, including opportunities with tier one publications, broadcast outlets, digital platforms, and relevant creators
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with journalists, producers, editors, creators, and influencers across assigned categories
  • Stay current on journalist beats, outlet priorities, editorial calendars, cultural moments, and changes across the media landscape
  • Coordinate interviews, broadcast segments, desksides, press visits, photoshoots, events, and media or influencer attendance at client activations
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive activity to identify proactive opportunities and recommend strategic pivots
  • Track and evaluate coverage quality, reach, message delivery, and campaign performance, then translate results into clear insights and next steps
  • Use approved AI tools for ideation, research, media analysis, pitch development, and reporting without substituting generated output for verified facts, original thinking, or relationship based outreach

Staff Development

  • Mentor and support Account Executives, Account Coordinators, and other junior team members across assigned accounts
  • Delegate work effectively, communicate clear expectations, and maintain quality control
  • Review and edit junior team members’ work and provide timely, constructive feedback
  • Help junior staff strengthen writing, research, reporting, media relations, client service, organization, and responsible AI use
  • Foster collaboration, accountability, positive morale, and a shared commitment to client results

Agency Development

  • Develop a strong understanding of services offered across Allied Global Marketing
  • Collaborate with teams across the agency to support integrated client programs
  • Contribute to new business research, strategy, proposal writing, pitch materials, presentations, and prospect meetings
  • Represent Allied professionally at industry events, media meetings, client activations, and networking opportunities
  • Identify practical ways approved AI tools can improve team processes, output quality, and efficiency

Personal Development

  • Build trust with clients, Allied’s leadership team, colleagues, media, and influencers through sound judgment, strong writing, and professional communication
  • Maintain professional conduct in all business and social situations
  • Continue developing strategic thinking, leadership, presentation, creative problem solving, and account management skills
  • Stay informed about media, culture, technology, client industries, and the broader marketing landscape
  • Practice honesty, integrity, and transparency across all professional relationships
  • Take ownership of annual goals and professional development planning while remaining open to constructive coaching
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related discipline preferred
  • Five or more years of comparable agency, corporate communications, or in house public relations experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading day to day client work and executing strategic publicity campaigns with limited oversight
  • Proven success securing meaningful placements with national, regional, and New York media
  • Strong media and influencer relationships across relevant hospitality, lifestyle, entertainment, and business categories
  • Excellent writing, editing, presentation, and verbal communication skills, including consistent application of AP Style
  • Strong journalistic instincts and the ability to adapt voice, tone, and story positioning for different brands and audiences
  • Strong organization, time management, and ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities, and deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff, delegate effectively, and provide constructive feedback
