Job description

Position Overview

Senior Account Director is a strategic architect of talent and creative solutions. You aren't just managing a book of business; you are a vital partner to a complex, high-demand client, ensuring their creative ambitions are met with the exact right talent at the right time. You will bridge the gap between high-level client vision and the tactical execution of matchmaking, translating vague needs into clear, actionable job descriptions. As a leader within your pod, you will drive operational excellence, mentor talent, and act as a calm, decisive problem‑solver who can navigate matrixed organizations to deliver results.

This position starts as an hourly w-2 estimated at 35‑40 hours per week, with the potential of converting to full‑time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Partnership & Creative Fluency
    • Creative Translator – Act as a strategic peer to the client, demonstrating a deep understanding of their creative vision and functional needs to ensure our talent solutions align with their brand standards and business goals.
    • Relationship Navigation – Build deep-rooted trust with senior stakeholders, moving beyond order taking to proactive advisory and risk mitigation within a demanding client environment.
    • The Rosie Advocate – Serve as the primary coach and advocate for our working Rosies, ensuring they are positioned for success and their performance remains world‑class.
    • Proactive Innovation – Monitor industry trends and client signals to proactively recommend evolving capabilities and solutions.
  • Precision Matchmaking & Scoping
    • Strategic Scoping – Take the lead in defining what the client actually needs. Translate complex client requests into high‑fidelity, clear job descriptions that ensure successful matchmaking.
    • Quality Control – Match and vet top‑tier marketing and creative talent, ensuring every Rosie placement is a precise fit for the client’s unique culture and technical requirements.
    • Operational Solutioning – Continuously audit and improve ways of working. Identify friction points in the client/agency relationship and design repeatable, scalable processes to resolve them.
  • Financial & Growth Leadership
    • Growth Architect – Partner with the Group Account Director to identify organic expansion opportunities, navigating the client’s internal matrix to find new ways we can provide value.
    • Financial Rigor – Own the day‑to‑day financial oversight for assigned accounts/workstreams, including managing budgets, tracking, analyzing and reporting on financial performance, and ensuring billing accuracy while protecting account health and profitability.
  • Team Leadership
    • Pod Mentorship – Mentor and develop Account Executives, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and bias toward action.
    • Calm Command – Model leadership under pressure, ensuring the pod operates with high emotional intelligence and operational discipline.
Qualifications / Core Competencies
  • 10+ years of experience within an agency or in‑house creative environment, specifically managing high‑touch, complex accounts.
  • Creative Literacy – You understand the difference between a good brief and a great one. You can comfortably talk shop with Creative Directors and Strategy Leads.
  • System Thinker – You don't just fix a problem once; you fix the process that caused it. You are a solution‑oriented leader who thrives in the gray area of a maturing business.
  • Ambiguity Architect – You don’t just follow roadmaps; you build them. You thrive when things are undefined and take pride in creating order out of chaos to keep workstreams moving forward.
  • Problem Solver – You anticipate challenges early and drive practical, solutions‑oriented outcomes under pressure.
  • Master Communicator – You possess the executive presence to challenge a client’s thinking respectfully and the empathy to support a freelancer’s journey.
  • Action Bias – You are a self‑starter who takes full ownership of account health, thriving on autonomy and the ability to move quickly.
  • Travel is to be expected.
Compensation

This role will be compensated hourly as a w‑2 position. The rate range for this role is $68‑70/hour, based on experience. The role is estimated at 35‑40 hours per week with the potential to convert to a full‑time position.

Our Values
  • Treat People Like People – Seeing the value in all people’s unique lives, experiences, and perspectives is what drives us.
  • Start With Why – Asking “Why” makes our team curious first so we get to better solutions. When we make a decision, we take the time to explain the “Why” behind our actions. Transparency is clear and it’s kind.
  • Speak With Actions – Trust isn’t given, it’s earned. We prove our reliability and trustworthiness to each other, our clients, and our Rosies by showing up and doing what we say we will — through small interactions and big moves.
  • Bring Tenacity – The path isn’t always an easy one, but our team chooses to be unwavering in our goal. We’re resilient, determined, and stubborn when necessary. That’s the fire it takes to get things done.
  • Make it Better – From changing old processes to disrupting the marketing industry, we know there is room to make it better. We strive to find those improvements and push them to reality.
