Job summary

Applause is seeking a US-based Accessibility Expert to ensure websites and apps are accessible to users of assistive technologies. You will work with developers and QA to implement remediation per WCAG 2.0/2.1, and Section 508 guidelines.

You’ll audit, mentor junior staff, and drive best practices across multiple client projects while collaborating with Sales and product teams to deliver accessible solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in a professional accessibility capacity.
• Experience working with Google as an employee, contractor, or partner.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Deep technical knowledge of accessibility and code-level remediation.
• Experience with assistive technologies and WCAG checkpoints.
• Consulting agency experience and strong customer-facing skills.
• Self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects.
• Comfortable in a matrix environment across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Act as a SME on accessibility and WCAG guidelines; provide audit reviews.
• Collaborate with Sales to tailor accessibility service solutions.
• Prepare, run, and report on feedback from user reviews and WCAG audits.
• Conduct audits and expert reviews of bugs for a full engagement.
• Educate product teams and run office hours on accessibility.
• Run multiple projects with different customers.
• Track program status and progress.
