Comcast is seeking a seasoned engineer to lead strategic architecture for next-generation access and transport technologies. You will evaluate FPGA/ASIC or software-based solutions, model RF/optical networks, and deliver PoCs to influence leadership decisions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in telecommunications and systems engineering.
• Strong understanding of physical layer (OSI Layer 1) and RF concepts and their impact on design.
• End-to-end systems engineering, performance evaluation, and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic architecture and system design for next-generation access and transport technologies.
• Evaluate hardware and software architectures (FPGA, ASIC, or software-based).
• Model and validate RF and optical networks across topologies (P2P, P2MP, mesh, star).
• Develop PoCs to validate new technologies and influence decisions.
• Perform system-level design tradeoffs including cost considerations.
• Collaborate with vendors and semiconductor partners on requirements.
• Provide technical leadership to external partners and standards bodies (CableLabs).
• Identify innovations from adjacent industries to improve network capabilities.
