Job summary

The role is housed with the Department of Surgery at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, with cross-functional responsibilities.

Expect to partner with surgeon-scientists on pediatric tissue engineering solutions, seek independent funding, and mentor researchers. The start date is negotiable.

Qualifications

• PhD in biomedical engineering or related field required.
• Experience collaborating with surgeon-scientists to develop tissue engineering solutions is preferred.
• Strong potential for independent extramural funding and patent development.

Responsibilities

• Partner with surgeon-scientists to develop innovative tissue engineering solutions for pediatric operations.
• Develop an independent line of extramural funding.
• Mentor other scientists and contribute to patent applications.
