Job summary

George Washington University’s Forensic Psychology department seeks an Academic Department Administrator to support the program’s daily operations under limited supervision. This senior role provides enhanced administrative support to the department and helps deliver high-quality service to faculty and students.

The position reports to a Faculty Department Chair or Program Director and may supervise staff; responsibilities include HR, budgeting, course materials, and liaison with CCAS and GW

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required. Degree must be conferred by start date.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operation of the academic department within school/college, focusing on HR, compliance and financial management.
• Coordinate and participate in human resources activities, recruitment, onboarding, and faculty hiring (FT, adjunct, visiting).
• Prepare budgets, process financials (POs, invoices, stipends, reimbursements) and monitor budget compliance.
• Support department administration, databases, scheduling, agendas/minutes, and correspondence to effect action.
