Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. in Mobile, AL is seeking an Aircraft Systems Engineer to join the Engineering department.

The MAP Systems Engineer role develops, justifies, and engineers solutions for aircraft systems non-conformities, acting as the primary interface between local manufacturing, the Airbus Design Offices, and international engineering networks. The position supports evening shifts and requires a BS in Aerospace or related field and 6+ years in aerospace engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or related field is required.
• Minimum 6+ years of progressive aerospace engineering experience.
• Experience working in transnational teams and with MAP Engineering deliverables.
• Knowledge of aircraft systems, design architecture, and integration.
• Familiarity with Airbus internal procedures, processes, and tools.

Responsibilities

• Live on-aircraft troubleshooting and diagnostic assessments during ground and flight line operations.
• Analyze specialized aircraft system test data and diagnose deviations affecting airworthiness.
• Accountable for design engineering across the entire aircraft systems perimeter.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and airworthiness for returned/reworked data.
• Define and authorize temporary aircraft definitions in alignment with safety mandates.
• Coordinate with transnational departments to resolve non-conformities.
• Attend flight line debriefs and present technical updates to internal/external customers.
• Interface between MAP Engineering, Design Office, and Manufacturing/QA.
• Lead corrective/preventive actions and monitor design changes.
