Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Claims Consultant in FL for the Global Financial Lines Errors & Omissions group. As an A&E claims professional, you will manage a caseload of complex, litigation-prone claims from inception to resolution, coordinating with defense counsel and senior leadership.

You will conduct investigations, analyze coverage and damages, communicate positions to insureds, and develop resolution strategies while supporting underwriting and risk management initiatives across offices.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree preferred, bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 5 years handling litigated coverage and liability of professional liability and/or Architects & Engineers claims.
• Risk Management Contract Reviews a plus.
• Candidate should be disciplined, results-oriented and able to focus on bottom line results.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong negotiation and advanced technical claim handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigating and analyzing claims to determine coverage, liability, and damages.
• Communicating positions to insureds and other required parties on coverage and damages.
• Setting reserves and monitoring them, with adjustments as needed.
• Negotiating resolution strategies and managing defense counsel.
• Attending trials and mediations as necessary.
• Preparing reports and delivering updates to senior claim leadership.
