Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Claims Consultant in the A&E group to manage a caseload of professional liability claims from inception to resolution. The role requires experience with litigated A&E matters, negotiation with defense counsel, and strong communications with insureds and brokers.

Responsibilities include investigations, coverage analysis, reserve setting, and presenting outcomes to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years handling litigated coverage and liability of professional liability cases.
• Experience handling litigated Architects & Engineers cases strongly desired.
• Ability to assess coverage, liability and damages based on facts.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations and analyze information for claims.
• Analyze coverage, liability and damages based on facts.
• Communicate positions to insureds and required parties on coverage and damages.
• Set reserves and monitor adjustments as needed.
• Present cases to management for authority decisions.
• Manage litigation with defense counsel and negotiate resolutions.
• Coordinate risk management initiatives and industry events.
