Job summary

FutureNET, Inc. is seeking a 911 Systems Consultant to support the City’s 911 systems, coordinating day-to-day technical support and vendor management across multiple computer services and platforms. This role ensures continuity of critical 911 operations and aligns with IT strategy.

You will work with stakeholders and vendors to plan upgrades, manage deployments, and monitor SLAs, while forecasting costs and resource needs for ongoing operations and projects. Hybrid work arrangement applies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years in progressively responsible tech roles with at least five years managing complex systems.
• Deep knowledge of IT principles, practices and theories.
• Broad IT lifecycle knowledge across solution lifecycles and environments.
• Experience with Software development lifecycle processes.
• Strong networking and security fundamentals.
• Experience with Technology and Application Architecture.
• Experience with CSV (Computerized System Validation) strategies and standards.
• Knowledge of Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations.
• Experience with Operating System Management and Database Technology.

Responsibilities

• Stay abreast of the latest 911 technology developments and participate in regional/state meetings.
• Confer with stakeholders to determine computing needs and set priorities for 911 projects.
• Work with vendors to analyze and upgrade systems; direct installation and validation of software/hardware.
• Participate in RFP/RFI processes, vendor selection, and SLA compliance.
• Direct maintenance and enhancement of 911 systems; oversee testing and deployment.
• Identify problems and opportunities to improve IT efficiency through initiatives.
• Forecast infrastructure and equipment costs and IT personnel needs for operations and projects.
• Ensure delivery of computer services within allocated cost, schedule, and budget.
• Complete ad hoc 911-related tasks as assigned by IT Directors.
