Job summary
EPG is seeking a Battery Systems Engineer to lead the design of an 800V stationary battery pack and energy-storage system from architecture through production. You will own pack architecture, cell configuration, safety and BMS integration, and drive validation efforts.
Requires a BS in engineering and 5+ years in battery pack or BMS design, with experience in high-voltage Li-ion systems and safety testing. Onsite in the Pacific Northwest with relocation support available.
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering required
- 5+ years of battery pack or BMS design experience
- Experience with high-voltage (400V+) Li-ion pack design, module architecture, and BMS integration
- Battery safety testing and abuse testing experience
- Preferred: stationary ESS experience (UL 9540/UL 9540A), concept-to-first-production, and high-energy-density chemistries like NMC/Silicon
Responsibilities
- Own 800V stationary battery pack and ESS design: architecture and cell configuration
- Set cycle-life, calendar-life, and thermal targets for high uptime
- Own pack-level safety architecture and abuse tolerance
- Define BMS requirements and interfaces to converter and rack controls
- Drive pack-level validation and testing
