Job summary

SES Satellites in Long Beach, CA, seeks a Senior Engineer for 5G NTN Integration & Verification on the meoSphere program. You will lead end-to-end verification of the 5G gNB stack deployed on the OBP of the payload, translating 3GPP test cases to NTN contexts and driving lab validation.

You will work with cross-disciplinary teams to design test campaigns, operate UE emulators and channel simulators, analyze protocol traces, and troubleshoot complex L2/L3 issues under high latency and Doppler

Qualifications

Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunications, Physics, or related field.
Deep expertise in 5G NR signalling and L2/L3 protocols with ability to analyze raw traces.
Experience with 5G-NTN technologies, latency and Doppler effects in space environments.

Responsibilities

Review 5G gNB software stack and define a Delta Test Plan for NTN.
Define and execute integration, verification, and interoperability campaigns for gNB on OBP hardware.
Commission and operate test benches with UE emulators and channel simulators for NTN conditions.
Perform root-cause analysis of L2/L3 protocol failures in lab or live-network-like environments.
Validate RRM and handover logic under MEO dynamics using protocol traces.
Contribute to maturation of 5G-NTN verification methodologies bridging standards and payload behavior.
