Job summary

AST SpaceMobile seeks a Principal NTN Radio Access and Mobility Engineer to drive end-to-end integration of Gateway components—eNodeB, gNodeB, BPMS and GPS Reference System—and to lead the networking First Office Application for each new Gateway SKU, ensuring readiness for deployment at scale.

The ideal candidate brings deep LTE/5G RAN knowledge, 3GPP NTN specs, and hands-on experience with timing advance, Doppler compensation, beam transitions, handover, and QoS across satellite and terrestrial

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in radio access network (RAN) engineering with LTE/5G experience.
• Integrating and testing RAN elements (eNodeB/gNodeB) in production environments.
• Leading FOA or first-deployment validation efforts for new network products.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end integration of Gateway components (eNodeB, gNodeB, BPMS, GPS) across platforms.
• Define, lifecycle-manage, and document hardware/software SKUs for each platform.
• Develop and maintain acceptance tests, pass/fail criteria, and golden configurations.
• Lead integration with Antenna, RF, NCC, and OSS systems; drive FOA for new SKUs.
• Define NTN radio-access behavior, investigate timing/frequency/Doppler issues.
