H. T. PROF Group is seeking a Senior CNC Setup Machinist for its clean, modern Wisconsin facility. You will own complex setups, edit G-code at the controller, and collaborate with engineering on DFM reviews for aerospace and defense components.

The role emphasizes shop-floor autonomy, mentorship, and high craftsmanship, with a bias toward precision and problem-solving rather than repetitive high-volume work.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of independent CNC setup on HMC/VMC mills or multi-axis lathes.
• Direct experience editing G-code at the controller.
• Proven track record in close-tolerance aerospace/defense/medical device environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, independent machine setups on HMC/VMC mills and multi-axis turning centers.
• Edit G-code and macro variables at the controller to optimize tool paths and cycles.
• Perform first-article inspections with micrometers and calipers to verify tight tolerances.
• Improve cell throughput and reduce cycle times across active machines.
• Mentor junior operators and collaborate with engineering on tool-path optimizations.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives and DFM reviews for new products.
