Job summary

1X is building humanoid robots for home use. We’re seeking a skilled CNC programmer/operator to own end-to-end fabrication of prototype and production parts in our Hayward shop, collaborating with engineers to ensure parts are precise, manufacturable, and delivered quickly.

You will program 5-axis and mill-turn machines, apply CAM systems, and uphold tight tolerances and in-process inspection, while keeping safety and quality at the forefront as we scale manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience programming and operating 5-axis and mill-turn CNC machines.
• Proficiency in a professional CAM system.
• Strong working knowledge of machining tolerances and in-process inspection techniques.
• Able to work full-time on-site in Hayward alongside a focused team.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end CNC programming and operation for prototype and small-scale production parts, holding tight tolerances across 5-axis milling and mill-turn work
• Deliver daily or next-day turnaround on engineering prototype parts without compromising quality
• Drive measurable improvements in design for manufacturability by partnering directly with engineering on every part you touch
• Maintain in-process inspection and quality standards that result in first-article acceptance on the parts you produce
• Keep the shop running safely, cleanly, and reliably as we scale machining throughput
