Job summary

Mersen is seeking an experienced CNC 5-Axis Hurco Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Topton, PA. The ideal candidate will independently set up, operate, and troubleshoot 5-axis Hurco machining centers to produce high-quality precision components.

Qualifications include 3+ years of CNC machining, strong reading of drawings and GD&T, and proficiency with precision measuring instruments. Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive safety standards apply.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CNC machining experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience with 5-axis CNC machining strongly preferred.
• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T.
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to perform CNC machine setups independently.
• Ability to make tool offsets, wear adjustments, and basic program edits.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Hurco 5-axis CNC machining centers.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, work instructions, and inspection requirements.
• Load and verify CNC programs and make necessary program offsets and adjustments.
• Select, install, and measure cutting tools and workholding.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and make appropriate tooling, offset, and process adjustments.
• Maintain tight dimensional tolerances and consistent part quality.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Identify tooling wear and replace tooling as needed.
• Work closely with engineering, programming, and quality personnel to resolve machining and quality issues.
• Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
• Complete required production and inspection documentation.
