Job summary

TekPro is seeking an experienced CNC 5-axis programmer in San Jose, CA. You will develop and optimize complex aerospace and defense parts using Mastercam, GD&T, and rigorous tooling strategies.

This role involves shop-floor collaboration, proving out programs, and continuous improvement to cycle time and accuracy. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of CNC experience, strong 5-axis milling skills, and a deep understanding of G-code, fixtures, and speeds and feeds.

Qualifications

• 7+ years CNC machining/programming with strong 5-axis milling.
• Proficient in Mastercam or similar CAM software.
• Solid understanding of G-code, GD&T, tooling, workholding, feeds and speeds.

Responsibilities

• Create, prove out, and optimize CNC programs for complex 5-axis milling.
• Develop machining strategies from CAD models and GD&T.
• Select tooling, fixtures, speeds, feeds, and cutting strategies.
• Simulate and verify programs for accuracy and collision avoidance.
• Support setup personnel during prove-outs and troubleshooting.
• Maintain setup sheets, program revisions, and documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality to resolve issues.
