Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a CNC Machinist, Tool & Die - Level 4/5 to work with programmers, leads, and engineering teams to optimize machining programs and procedures. The role involves setting up and operating 5-axis CNC mills, inspecting parts, and ensuring tight tolerances are met across various materials.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of 5-axis CNC experience, familiarity with Heidenhain controls, and the ability to read CAD drawings and GD&T notes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 5+ years of experience in setup, operation and/or programming of 5-axis CNC mills.
• Ability to read CAD drawings and blueprints and understand GD&T.
• Familiarity with Heidenhain machine controls.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate multi-axis 5-axis CNC mills.
• Set up tools as per program requirements.
• Inspect parts via probing and/or hand tools to verify dimensions.
• Complete machining operations from CAD, blueprints, drawings and verbal instructions.
• Work with complex, tight tolerance parts and various materials.
• Meet expectations for productivity.
• Communicate with shop leadership when production is inhibited.
• Continuously provide feedback for process improvements.
