Job summary

BBSI Portland is seeking a seasoned retirement plan specialist to own the full onboarding cycle for 401(k) offerings. You will convert prospects, engage owners, and ensure a clean launch with ongoing relationship management.

You will partner with sales and operations, run discovery, present plan design options, handle objections, and manage a regional pipeline with travel. Licensing and proven outcomes matter.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in 401(k) or retirement plan administration, implementation, sales, or account management.
• Proven track record selling or expanding retirement plan business with measurable results.
• Working knowledge of ERISA, IRS and DOL requirements and plan types.

Responsibilities

• Convert existing clients from 401(k) prospects to active plan sponsors through consultative conversations.
• Partner with teams on new prospects where retirement is part of the pitch; join sales calls as expert.
• Run discovery on opportunities and build a compelling business case with design options and fiduciary coverage.
• Handle objections about cost, admin burden, and prior provider experiences; manage a defined pipeline.
• Own end-to-end onboarding: design finalization, payroll integration, census setup, and first contributions.
• Travel regionally for in-person training, client visits, and market-level pushes.
