Job summary

Seagate's Rapid Prototyping Lab in Shakopee is seeking a hands-on prototyping technician to operate 3D printers, scanners, lasers, and related equipment. You will partner with engineers to turn concepts into physical parts and manage build files and timelines.

The role emphasizes process optimization, quality inspection, and safe, organized lab practices, with opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement and cross-functional projects across additive manufacturing workflows.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with additive manufacturing technologies.
• Ability to interpret CAD models and drawings.
• Willingness to operate and maintain prototyping equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate 3D printers, scanners, lasers and optimize systems.
• Process customer requests and produce prototype parts.
• Collaborate with engineers to transform concepts into prototypes.
• Review CAD models to choose suitable manufacturing processes.
• Maintain records of procedures, machine settings, and improvements.
