Job summary

Integral Federal, Inc. is hiring a Tier 3 Engineer to provide 24x7x365 operational support for VA OIT PDS BAM/MBS, delivering secure IT solutions that sustain the Department’s mission.

You will respond to alerts, perform patching, monitor systems, generate postmortems and AARs, and apply SRE practices. A Bachelor’s degree in CS or IT and 7–10 years of experience are required, with Public Trust. Salary range is $110,000–$138,000.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or an IT-related degree with 7-10 years' experience.
• Experience providing 24x7 support, responding to automated alerts, HPIs/CPIs, and resolving incidents under strict SLTs.
• Experience performing patching, maintenance, backup/recovery, monitoring, and environment support.
• Experience producing postmortems, outage reports, event updates, and conducting root-cause analysis.
• Experience supporting deployments, incident triage, synthetic monitoring, and SRE-aligned processes.

• Experience with .NET/Java/Oracle; VA systems; cloud operations

Responsibilities

• Respond to alerts, HPIs/CPIs, and produce Event Update Reports and Postmortems.
• Apply OS/application patches, monitor environments, and support deployments.
• Monitor environments continuously, including dashboards, logs, telemetry, availability, and capacity metrics.
• Produce Postmortem Reports, Event Update Reports, and After-Action Reports (AARs).
• Provide trend analysis, performance assessments, and recommendations for system optimizations. Perform OS and application patching, backup and restoration operations, job scheduling, and environment maintenance.
• Support deployments (including after-hours releases), validating maximum-load performance and ensuring release stability
• Implement SRE practices to improve monitoring, fault tolerance, resiliency, logging, alerting, and automated testing.
• Support proactive monitoring, synthetic tests, and integration validations to prevent outages and maintain SLTs
