Job summary

Woodside Academy, a large primary school in the Leading Learners Multi-Academy Trust, is looking for an experienced support assistant to help pupils with SEND reach their potential. You will join a supportive team and assist with personal care needs, including transfers and welfare, working with EHCPs and specialists to plan and review pupil support.

You will uphold safeguarding standards, maintain professionalism, and contribute to a positive, collaborative learning environment for all pupils.

Qualifications

• Experience working with pupils with SEND.
• GCSE Maths and English grade A-C (or equivalent).
• Ability to provide support identified in EHCPs.
• Assist with personal care, including transfers and welfare.
• Work in a multi-disciplinary planning and assessment team.
• Attend specialist-delivered training to meet medical and sensory needs.
• Promote safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
• Maintain professionalism in line with Staff Code of Conduct.
• Effective communication skills with pupils, parents, and staff.
• Calm, understanding and supportive approach.
• High standards and expectations in all areas.
• Excellent teamwork and positive attitude.

Responsibilities
