Job summary

Sedgemoor Manor School is seeking an outstanding SEN Teacher to join and expand learning experiences for pupils aged 7–19 with autism, ADHD and related complex needs. KS2/KS3 experience with SEND is welcome.

The role involves delivering high-quality lessons, assessing progress, differentiating instruction, and collaborating with families and external professionals. Commitment to safeguarding and ongoing professional development is essential.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with relevant teaching qualifications.
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum in KS3.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Create a supportive, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment that facilitates active learning.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse needs of students, including those with SEN.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support student learning and well-being.
  • Manage classroom behaviour to promote self-discipline and respect.
  • Participate in professional development and school events.
  • Engage with school policies and contribute to a positive school ethos.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records with personalized feedback.
