Job summary

Kingston Bagpuize is seeking SEND Tutor/Teacher candidates to deliver Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEMH and SEND needs. Roles include in-person, online, and hybrid delivery across KS1–KS5, with flexible hours and self-employed status.

Ideal applicants have 2+ years teaching experience, QTS/QTLS, and an Enhanced DBS with references. You will work within a supportive SEND team, driving positive student outcomes within a trauma-informed framework.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
  • Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references

Responsibilities

  • Provide in person, online / remote, and hybrid Maths, English, or Science tuition to children and young people with SEND/SEMH needs
  • Support pupils referred by local authorities and schools with flexible, trauma-informed tutoring
  • Plan and report for lessons and provide regular progress feedback

SEND Tutor and Teacher role requirements:
  • Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
  • Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
  • Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
  • Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment
The SEND Tutor and Teacher role and responsibilities:
  • Provide in person, online / remote, and hybrid Maths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
  • Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
  • Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress

We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
