Job summary

Kawasaki is seeking an SJ Semi System Application Engineer to lead the development, testing, and maintenance of semiconductor system applications in our San Jose, CA facility. This full-time role involves coordinating cross-functional design teams and traveling for on-site start-up support as needed.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical or electrical engineering background, 3+ years in semiconductor equipment, strong CAD skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years’ technical experience in semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with 3D and 2D CAD software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate complex concepts.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• 5+ years’ experience in engineering in automation or semiconductor industry.
• Experience with semiconductor EFEM.
• Experience with system design in semiconductor fab environment.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer’s request on Kawasaki semiconductor system application.
• Be the technical focal point of Kawasaki semiconductor system; respond to technical inquiries from internal and external customers.
• Lead prototype design projects; provide technical guidance to mechanical, electrical, software and prototype teams to complete system applications within the timeline.
• Provide field support on customer’s site during initial system start-up, including domestic or overseas travels.
• All other duties as assigned.
