Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor in Austin, TX is seeking an equipment engineer to monitor and qualify wafer fabrication equipment, analyze data, and implement process improvements to boost yield and capability.

You will coordinate equipment qualifications, communicate technical details across the department, and help develop cost-reducing projects while adhering to SAS FAB safety protocols. This full-time, on-site role requires relocation to Austin.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years semiconductor experience (metrology equipment preferred).
• Experience troubleshooting equipment or process failures.
• Exposure to structured problem solving (8D, 7-step).
• Understanding of statistical methods.
• Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the wafer fabrication equipment and respond to issues.
• Qualify new manufacturing equipment.
• Coordinate the scheduling of equipment qualifications and downtime with manufacturing.
• Use software to analyze data, identify trends to make decisions about processing product.
• Make adjustments when equipment parameters are exceeded and monitor process parameters after maintenance.
• Execute in line changes (CPM) to the process or equipment.
• Communicate technical information within the department through presentations.
• Continuously revise SOPs and develop improved processes to increase capability.
• Monitor operations costs and develop cost reduction projects.
