Job summary

Farnsworth Group, Inc. seeks an Industrial/Semiconductor Mechanical Engineer in the Austin area to lead multi-project mechanical design including HVAC/exhaust, cleanroom design, plumbing, and process utilities for advanced manufacturing and technology markets.

The role reports to an Engineering Manager who provides mentoring and training opportunities. You will prepare construction drawings, schematics, and layouts, manage budgets and schedules, and apply ICC codes while collaborating with other

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering is required.
• 8–15 years of experience in technically complex system design.
• PE license is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of ICC model codes (Fire, Building, Mechanical, Plumbing).
• Design experience for medium/large commercial and institutional facilities.
• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Team player in a multi-disciplinary environment and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate Mechanical system construction drawings and specifications.
• Prepare preliminary schematics, final designs, calculations, equipment selection and layout.
• Maintain project design budgets and schedules while pursuing quality.
• Conduct code research and apply ICC codes.
• Interface with other disciplines, clients, and contractors.
• Coordinate with production staff on multiple projects.
