Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Mechanical Commissioning and Startup Engineer for a semiconductor facility in New Albany, OH. You will assist in commissioning planning, execution, and system verification, coordinating with engineering, construction, vendors, and operations to ensure safe, on-schedule handover.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with up to 5 years of relevant experience, strong knowledge of mechanical systems, and proficiency in reading P&IDs and drawings.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• 0–5 years of relevant experience for entry to mid-level roles in mission critical facilities.
• Ability to read P&IDs and mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems including AHUs, exhausts, pumps, fans, heat exchangers, boilers, chillers, valves and piping.

Responsibilities

• Develop Mechanical Commissioning Plans and Procedures.
• Review design documents, submittals, and vendor documentation.
• Coordinate commissioning activities and turnover to operations.
• Verify equipment installation, labels, and accessibility.
• Coordinate system turnover and documentation.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance during commissioning.
