Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an HVAC Facilities Thermal Engineer for the Taylor, TX facility. The role covers cooling, heating, and process cooling systems, with 24/7 operation expectations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include overseeing operations across maintenance teams, reviewing data to ensure capacity, and driving reliability improvements using FMEA and 8D methods. A PE license is a plus and strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of experience in related roles (plant operations, reliability engineering, or design engineering).
• Professional Engineer’s license is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly at all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and communication to operations, instrumentation, maintenance, and external resources to ensure operational sustainability.
• Review process and equipment data to ensure specifications and capacity.
• Interface with internal customers to sustain uninterrupted operations.
• Improve equipment reliability via FMEA, root cause analysis, and 8D problem solving.
• Develop and improve operations and maintenance procedures to apply best practices.
• Forecast costs and develop cost-reduction projects for operation and maintenance.
