Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Commissioning and Start-Up Lead for HVAC and cleanroom systems on semiconductor projects in the Clay, NY area. You will lead commissioning from definition through turnover, directing engineers and technicians and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree and 8–14 years in commissioning of HVAC/cleanroom environments, strong knowledge of ISO, ASHRAE, SMACNA, BMS/BAS, and a proven ability to drive safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 8–14 years in related fields.
• Experience commissioning HVAC and cleanroom systems in semiconductor, pharma, or critical environments.
• Knowledge of ISO 14644, ASHRAE guidelines, and SMACNA standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning and startup for HVAC and cleanroom systems across projects.
• Develop plans, test procedures, checklists, and acceptance criteria.
• Verify ISO performance, pressure cascade, and environmental requirements.
• Direct TAB activities and review reports for design intent.
• Coordinate with controls, engineering, construction, vendors, and owner teams.
• Mentor engineers and technicians; manage safety and quality programs.
