Job summary

GlobalFoundries is hiring a Maintenance Engineering Technician for the Malta Fab 8 site. You will monitor and sustain semiconductor equipment, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and troubleshoot issues to keep manufacturing ready.

Collaboration with production teams and engineers is essential for timely updates and continuous improvement. The role requires basic hand tools, strong problem-solving, and the ability to work in a cleanroom environment with appropriate PPE.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Degree (or equivalent)
• Experience: Electrical or mechanical, 2-year technical degree or 4 years relevant experience
• English fluency and basic computer skills required
• Ability to work in a cleanroom environment and wear required PPE
• Comfort with standing for long shifts and lifting up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Monitor equipment performance and schedule preventive maintenance
• Perform corrective maintenance per operating procedures
• Troubleshoot equipment and communicate status to Lead Tech/Engineer
• Assist in documenting events and shift handoffs
• Collaborate with production teams in a fast-paced fab environment
