Job summary

Lumentum is seeking an Industrial Engineer to optimize capacity, throughput, and efficiency in a semiconductor wafer fab. You will build capacity models, drive Lean initiatives, and lead cross‑functional improvement projects in collaboration with manufacturing, engineering, planning, automation, and finance teams.

You will develop detailed capacity analyses, implement continuous improvement programs, and enhance reporting and automation through dashboards and data models.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in high‑tech manufacturing; wafer fab experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in Lean, continuous improvement, or process optimization.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, data modeling, and visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau).
• Familiarity with SQL, Python, or automation concepts preferred.
• Experience leading cross‑functional projects.

Responsibilities

• Capacity Modeling & Factory Analysis: Develop, maintain, and improve detailed fab capacity models.
• Continuous Improvement & Lean Execution: Lead Lean initiatives and standardize processes to improve throughput.
• Automation & Reporting: Build dashboards and automate reports; improve data accuracy.
• Project Leadership & Execution: Lead cross‑functional projects from planning to delivery and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Operational Support & Analysis: Conduct time studies, evaluate performance against plan, and support financial planning inputs.
