Job summary

fab2, a San Francisco startup, seeks a Production Technician to assemble semiconductor equipment from drawings, BOMs, CAD models, and work instructions. You will perform mechanical and electrical assembly, soldering, and testing, and collaborate with engineers to refine designs and support tool bring-up.

You’ll own tools end-to-end: calibration, testing, maintenance, and in-process verification. Build wire harnesses, verify part revisions, and use BOMs to ensure correct assemblies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building electro-mechanical assemblies from drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.
• Detail-oriented with strong testing and quality verification.
• Collaborates with engineers to troubleshoot and improve designs.

Responsibilities

• Own the completed tool end to end: calibration, testing, and maintenance.
• Mechanical and electrical assembly of equipment.
• Build wire harnesses, solder through-hole and SMT components.
• Conduct in-process testing to verify functionality and identify defects.
• Use CAD models and BOMs to verify parts and revisions.
• Partner with engineers to improve equipment designs and instructions.
• Support bring-up and installation of tools and fabs, troubleshooting with engineering.
• Use light fabrication equipment to produce parts and assembly aids.
